These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of CeeWealth, a personal finance tracking application. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

CeeWealth is operated as a personal project. References to "we", "us", or "CeeWealth" refer to the service operator. References to "you" or "user" refer to anyone who accesses or uses the service.

Plain English: This is a personal finance tracker. You own your data. We won't sell it. Use the service honestly and we'll keep it running for you.

To use CeeWealth you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials secure and confidential
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access
  • Providing accurate information when creating or updating your account

You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of third parties without their consent.

CeeWealth provides tools to help you track your net worth, income, expenses, investments, and financial goals. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time
  • Perform maintenance that may temporarily affect availability
  • Update features, pricing, or functionality with reasonable notice

We will make reasonable efforts to maintain uptime and notify users of planned downtime where possible, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.

Important: CeeWealth is a personal finance tracking tool only. Nothing within the service constitutes financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, or any other regulated financial service.

Any projections, calculations, or estimates shown in the app are for illustrative purposes based on the data you input. They should not be relied upon for making financial decisions.

You should always consult a qualified financial adviser, accountant, or tax professional before making significant financial decisions. CeeWealth accepts no responsibility for decisions made based on information displayed within the service.

05 - Acceptable Use

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use CeeWealth to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, servers, or other users' accounts
  • Introduce malicious code, viruses, or any disruptive software
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or copy any part of the service without permission
  • Use the service for any commercial purpose other than your own personal finance tracking
  • Submit false or misleading information

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice.

Payment & Billing

CeeWealth offers monthly and annual subscriptions at the prices displayed at the time of purchase. All prices are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically on the anniversary of your purchase date
  • You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period
  • We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers

Payment processing is handled by a third-party provider. We do not store your full payment card details.

07 - Termination

Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, your personal data and all associated records will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

We may terminate or suspend your access if you breach these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if continued access poses a risk to other users or the service. We will provide notice where reasonably practicable.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CeeWealth shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Our total liability for any claim arising under these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by a notice within the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of CeeWealth after the effective date of updated terms constitutes acceptance of the new terms. If you disagree with any changes, you may close your account before they take effect.

  • Financial data - account balances, income, expenses, investments, and goals you enter manually
  • Usage data - pages visited, features used, and actions taken within the app, for the purpose of improving the service
  • Technical data - IP address, browser type, and device information collected automatically via server logs

We do not collect any data from your bank accounts, financial institutions, or third-party services unless you manually enter it.

How We Use It

We use your data solely to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the CeeWealth service
  • Authenticate your account and keep it secure
  • Send transactional emails such as password resets or billing receipts
  • Diagnose technical issues and improve the service
  • Comply with legal obligations

We will never use your financial data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the service for you.

Your data is stored on servers located in the United Kingdom. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS. Database backups are encrypted at rest.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers - third parties who help us operate the service, including Stripe Inc. for payment processing, bound by confidentiality agreements and their own privacy policies.
  • Legal requirements - if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority
  • Business transfer - in the event of a merger or acquisition, with appropriate notice to you

Any third-party service providers are required to process your data only as instructed by us and in accordance with applicable data protection law.

  • Auth cookie - persistent login if you choose "remember me"

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or analytics cookies that send your data to external services. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings, which will log you out of the service.

08 - Retention

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records for a longer period.

Anonymised, aggregated usage data that cannot be linked back to any individual may be retained indefinitely for service improvement purposes.

Security

We implement the following security measures:

  • Passwords are hashed using a strong one-way algorithm - we never store plain text passwords
  • All communication between your browser and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
  • Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel only
  • Database backups are encrypted and stored securely
