How often
Weekly or monthly both work well. Weekly gives a smoother trend line; monthly is enough to catch meaningful changes without it becoming a chore. Daily is rarely worth the effort - balances don't move enough day to day to matter.
How to update a balance
- Open the account from your dashboard or the Accounts list.
- Select Update balance.
- Enter the new figure from your bank app or statement.
- Save - your net worth and chart update immediately.
Keep it quick
Most people spend around 30 seconds per account. Doing it in one sitting - a "money Sunday" - tends to stick better than spreading updates out unpredictably through the week.
