Budgeting in CeeWealth works on categories and monthly limits, logged manually alongside your net worth.

Creating a category

  1. Go to Budget and select Add category.
  2. Name it - "Groceries", "Transport", "Subscriptions" - whatever matches how you actually think about spending.
  3. Set a monthly limit based on a recent average, not an aspirational number.

Logging expenses

Add expenses against a category as they happen, or in a weekly batch from your bank statement. Either works - consistency matters more than frequency.

Start with fewer categories

Five or six broad categories is easier to maintain than twenty granular ones. You can always split a category later once you see where the detail would actually help.

When a limit doesn't fit

If you're consistently over or under a category, adjust the limit rather than leaving it wrong for months - a budget that doesn't match reality stops being useful.
